Art & Culture

During the first nine weeks, prior to the trip, students experiment with various introductory level approaches to multi-media art, including video, time lapse and long-exposure light photography. While in Chile, students collect data, photographs and recordings and maintain a travel log that documents their experiences and discoveries. We’ll also have the chance to interact with the incredible people, culture and art of the Atacama. Upon return to the U.S. students work to organize and structure their data in the creation of a final multimedia artwork that synthesizes their experiences in the field.

“Diving directly into another country’s culture was an experience unlike any other. I have never learned and experienced so much in such a short amount of time.”
